The Behance Network a collection of user profiles, gallery of work, job postings and more.



Core 77 Likely one of the best and favorite websites geared towards industrial design but spanning the gamut of design. This site keeps inspiring fresh minds published and exhibited.



Coroflot A sister link to/from Core 77 is the every helpful Coroflot. An online forum for designers to post their digital portfolios and hunt for jobs. Check out their blog [creative seeds]



Index Exhibit is likely the epitome of minimal online portfolios. Allowing users to participate giving they follow the clean, minimal pre determined format provided. This site offers an interesting combination of designers and artists.

I slept off the hangover from the Kell Munoz Architects x-mas party under my desk, like all decent architects probably do. So, I wasn't in the mood to answer stupid questions from general contractors, even thought the smart-ass answer I usually provide is for them to refer to the previously issued CD's, haha, lazy bastards. I found myself cruising the design and architecture websites and blogs across the vast internets, and btw- thanks Al Gore the internets are swell indeed! Somewhere along the blogosphere I found some awwwmazing photography by Brian Walker. Anonymous (group)

Over the last few weeks no doubt we have all heard the recent controversy of Wikileaks and the man at the for front, Julian Assange. I think the most interesting thing to come out of the media hysteria is how the online world has decided to fight back. The community group "Anonymous" has recently been at the center of attacks on sites such as Visa, and Mastercard (amazon.com is said to be its next target) in support of Wikileaks. The attacks are carried out by users voluntarily giving control of their computers as part of a global botnet. Once activated LOIC adds your computer to a network that is then activated by a single user. All computers then hit the same site in a coordinated attack, thereby shutting it down temporarily. The news around Anonymous has been viral, which has led the group to posting its manifesto.link

The power of an online mob rises  questions in uncharted territory. Some people believe this will lead to the eventual complete censorship of the internet. Some are claiming that Assange is a patsy for the U.S. in order to get this control (how does he have a 256bit encrypted file that even the CIA cant break via "doomsday file"). But who really controls the internet? Is it a national government? Does their jurisdiction of the internet end at the borders of the country? If the U.S. is putting pressure on sites like Paypal does that mean they are the ones who are in control? The ideas in the manifesto are intriguing for the fact that it doesn't really claim to be anything or even to be a group of specific people.

How do you control something as fluid as the internet? In my opinion it is only through an equally fluid entity (mob) such as Anonymous. I think it is simple, the governments of the world say "we will force you to be free". Anonymous says "we like cats."

Many people question that a person would willingly give their computer do an entity such as Anonymous they know nothing about in order to voice their opinion. I have to ask the question, would you give your money, time, and life to a government you do not believe in?

"Created in 2005 by Oregon State physics graduate Bobby Henderson, it was originally intended as a satirical protest against the decision by the Kansas State Board of Education to permit the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to evolution in public schools. In an open letter sent to the Kansas State Board of Education, Henderson parodied the concept of intelligent design by professing belief in a supernatural creator that closely resembles spaghetti and meatballs. Henderson further called for his "Pastafarian" (wordplay on Rastafarian) theory of creation to be allotted equal time in science classrooms alongside intelligent design and evolution. He explained that since the intelligent design movement uses ambiguous references to an unspecified "Intelligent Designer", any conceivable entity may fulfill that role, even a Flying Spaghetti Monster. After Henderson published the letter on his website, it rapidly became an Internet phenomenon and a symbol for the case against teaching intelligent design in public schools as well as religion in general."

Sooooo, when my new custom eye patch gets delivered I think I'll not only join the local chapter of Pastafarians but also become an official land pirate myself, and then be on the search for some booty, arrrrrrrrr!

This looks like a cool app. One of our co-workers sent this out in an email. The app allows anyone that has the app to take credit card payments with Square's plug in device. It plugs directly into your headphone jack, synchs with the app and sends your payments to your bank. Looks like small business just got a lot easier.

autoCAD for the ipad & iphone

It's finally here, wooooooo, but the app needs work, awwwwww...

The marketing department of Kell Muñoz Architects already uses ipads and iphones in the field and for impromptu meeting/presentations with our clients.

First of all, having a desktop viewer app on my phone I can already open CAD/Revit from my iphone and manipulate the drawings, of course it's slow and kind of a pain in the a$$, but it works and there are many free versions of it.

I downloaded this new app to try it out and it works pretty damn well on my iphone. You can do all the basic commands with ease. When drawing a line it even gives you the length above the line and it snaps to polar.
