Though for Michael Arthur, his moments come from various environments, such as ballet, theatres, music, and everyday experiences like subway rides. His work seems to be percise but through the use of sketch methods.

Scale-Free Networks within Angiogenesis: A Non-linear Biology Study

This past year I had been working with the LabStudio (Jenny Sabin & Peter Lloyd Jones) group at the University of Pennsylvania's Institute of Medical Engineering. The work is commissioned to develop a higher level of understanding about cell lung research within a 3D, mircro-tectonic world. The project was exhibited at the Klein Gallery in Philadelphia last month and will soon receive exposure within two different publications. These images are snapshots of a larger set of complex system of 'cell' to 'cell' and 'cell' to 'extracellularmatrix/environment' relationships. The relationships are based on a strict rule set developed from the analysis of angiogenesis.

About a year ago I was rummaging the internet and stumbled upon this site IfYouCould and purchased the above sweet limited edition print by Kate Gibb. Stumbling around the internet again looking for more of her work, HUCK popped up. Huck has a tight collection of art, culture, music etc. It's chocked full of cool interviews, artwork, style and blogs ... Kate Gibb Check it - its full of cool stuff - I didn't see an architecture part of the site but some of the art was rather sculptural...maybe they need some peeps to write for them?

Kentridge Exhibit at SFMOMA

A fabulous collection of work is on exhibit currently in the Museum of Modern Art by architect Mario Botta in San Fransisco. South African based William Kentridge supplies an unending reel of inpsiring, breathtaking, soulful inner samples, documentarian approaches to life, art, apartheid and the continuing expansiveness of the human. His work manifests in multiple media types, charcol, ink, sketch, sculpture, mixed-media, film, installations, and compositions. The geometric aspects of this artist breach the artistic and explore the tangents of film, architecture, humanity and all the goodies of feelings real art should. His collaboration with composer Phillip Miller is part of the process that rarely accompanies art found in museums. I had the recent pleasure of seeing the exhibit and was completely moved and inspired. What interested me the most was the use of objects, he constructed a mini black box theatre complete with a perspective built diorama, computer controlled animatronic collage and what I assume to be stop motion filming. The down and dirty approach to his work is impressive. Please research and investigate this artist. I do not know the location of the next exhibit, but it is more than a worthwhile experience, it is NOT boring, tiring, or irritating. The exhibit was very well curated and took the individual on a safari through the series of pieces.
